Students will be taken through catered lessons that focus on areas of weakness, while building good habits and a strong foundation. Students will also be pushed to improve their tactical vision and positional understanding. As a tournament player myself, I will also help students prepare for their own tournaments if they wish to do so. The ultimate goal is to guide the willing student to become the best chess player they can be!

I started playing chess when I was 6 years old, competing and finding success in scholastic tournaments. After not playing for about a decade, I have spent the past three years studying, learning, and competing in major chess tournaments in the United States. Most recently, I achieved first place in the 2026 Chicago Open U1500 section, and scored 6/9 in the World Open U1600 section. I have also achieved a 2300 blitz rating on chess.com (top 0.02 percentile). It is my goal to pass my knowledge and competitive spirit onto any student who wishes to level up their own game!

Good things to know.
Where do in-person lessons happen?
Around the Naperville/Plainfield area — your home, a local library, a quiet café, up to you! We'll settle on a spot when I confirm your booking by email.
How does online coaching work?
We meet over Zoom, Google Meet, or Discord and share a board on chess.com or Lichess. Just let me know what you would like to work on when requesting a slot so I can prepare our session.
What about payment?
Payments will be arranged after the session is confirmed, this allows you to request a time and discuss details before paying anything.
Do you coach kids?
Yes. Scholastic students are very welcome, in person or online, with parents kept in the loop on progress and homework.
